Smoother Gameplay

An RPG is a conversation. It has a rhythm. When it’s working, the mechanics disappear and the story takes over. You aren't thinking about menus or turn processing—you're just there, in the world.

This week, we focused on protecting that rhythm. We’re making the world move with you, giving you the freedom to explore every "what if," and ensuring the engine stays out of your way.

Party movement on the hex map

1. The Follow Mechanic

Moving a party should feel natural. You shouldn't have to micromanage every single character's footsteps across the map.

With the new Follow Mechanic, your party moves as a single unit. NPCs and companions can now lock onto a leader, automatically navigating the hex map together. It turns movement from a series of clicks into a cohesive journey.

Revert turn interface

2. Revert to Latest Turn

Sometimes you want to see where the other path leads. Or maybe a choice didn't land exactly how you envisioned it in your head.

You can now Revert to the latest turn. Think of it as a way to explore the multiverse of your story. You can jump back one step, take a different approach, and watch the narrative branch in a completely new direction. It’s about giving you more agency over the story you’re telling.

Durable turn processing

Behind the scenes, we’ve completely rebuilt how turns are processed to be more durable.

We've introduced a new platform that recovers from any fault AI response. This gives your turns a level of reliability they’ve never had before. Whether the server hits a hiccup or you’re in the middle of a complex narrative event, your progress is guaranteed. It’s a faster, smoother, and more confident engine.

We’ve also polished the tools you use to interact with the world:

Moment-to-moment gameplay feels more solid than ever. We can’t wait for you to feel the difference.

Late night coding sessions

In Other News

I've been deep in the weeds rethinking our system's primitives. A lot of late nights, but this tiny desk is keeping me awake ☕️
